Ok so as most of you are aware... Life got in the way of my blogging for a bit. But I'm back, and hope to be better than ever. I plan to do some interactive blogs coming up so keep your eyes on twitter where I'll ask for your help (@bakerjm13).
All I can say about St. Pete is WOW! What a freaking phenomenal way to start a season! I'm so glad to see someone different take the checkers! Congrats to Hinch on that. Obviously there were some less than stellar moments too, but I thought the race was fantastic! I hope barber can match it.
The less than stellar moments include Dario's rookie mistake of coming out of the pits as hot as he could and hitting the wall. I do give him props for owning up to it though. Another one that had everyone I know shaking their heads was Jr Hildebrand. I am glad he took responsibility for his mistake, but he really needs to step up his game. I saw a few things from him I didn't like at all. I think he just needs to get his focus back!
Now on to the awesome... Simona de Silvestro had the drive of her career! I am so glad to see her up in the front where she belongs. And how about Sato, results weren't great but the first bit of the race proved he can take the Foyt car to a new level, think he'll have a good season. I think this could be an amazing year for the underdogs, and I for one couldn't be more excited to watch a field that is all competitive.
Things to watch in barber... Marco (never thought I'd say that). He's got his head back in the game, he could be a factor. I think everyone will be more settled in so the racing will be even better. I also can't wait to see what dinger has to offer. He couldn't ask for a better drive, now he just has to prove he still has it. Think it's going to be a great race and I can't wait to watch!
